Mid-day Friday we departed for our road-trip weekend out of town. We stayed with friends on Friday night in Fargo and left Saturday morning for the Detroit Lakes area.
The wedding was at the Fair Hills Resort. In one word: awesome! We are already making plans for our next trip.
Technically, this is their off season but we didn't know if by the weather - 90°F and sunny.
We had the beach to ourselves. Can't complain.
Corey and Kya enjoyed a relaxing float.
Then Kya got the tube to herself. I think she fell asleep.
I brought Kya's sunscreen but I didn't bring any for Corey or I. It was so HOT and so BRIGHT that I forked over
Kya dug with such intensity. /It was fun watching her work.
She likes lake country.
The resort beach. All non-motorized equipment is free for guests to use (floats, life jackets, beach toys, kayaks, canoes, water bikes, volleyball, swimming pool, shuffleboard, etc).
The groom and a groomsman peddled up on water bikes.
Kya was taking a beak from 'digging to China' to chat with Grandma Andrea on the phone
90°F mid-September in Minnesota? yes please!
This is Corey in case you can't tell.
We have a beach bum.
She is a pool bum too.
We clean up pretty good, eh?
Some pre-ceremony shuffleboard.
Just hanging out looking cute.
This perfectly explains our weekend of chasing after Kya as she explored her world. Run run run.
This resort is seriously awesome.
Oh and they had a bonfire too.
This was our cabin. Kya slept in 68A and Corey and I slept in 68 (adjoining rooms).
Kya's room at the resort. Simple but clean and comfortable. Our room had one queen bed and full kitchen. Both rooms had full bathrooms. And the best part? Excellent food and not a TV in sight. Heaven.
The traveling toddler was a road warrior! Not a peep the whole way there, or returning.
