a walk with the bump

bumpwalk

I took Reagan and the baby bump on a long walk this evening, after a late-afternoon thunderstorm rolled through. The smells were amazing (rain, fresh grass, dirt), and the colors were absolutely beautiful.

I had to do a double take when I saw my shadow ... "my, what a big tummy I have!"
I'm due in exactly two months - August 17 'ish' and can not wait to meet our little guy.

Kya is spending the week with Grandma and Grandpa Hager and I already miss her like crazy. She is one blessed little girl to have wonderful grandparents to spend an entire week with. As for me, I'm taking this week to catch up on Bison Booties business and inventory.

Sunny Sunday

Last Sunday was beautiful, sunny and super yummy because we ate at La Carreta, a new Mexican restaurant in Bismarck. If you've tried to find "good, authentic" Mexican food in Bismarck, you'd know that it was impossible, aside from making it yourself. I'm quite excited about this new place ... it's good, not great ... but definitely a big jump in the right direction.

We spent the afternoon at the Vander Vorst family river cabin and got home after dinner, with some time to enjoy the evening at home (kya in our driveway)

mermaid Kya

Kya is a student in the Mandan parent-child swim class (which means I get to get in the water with her). Classes are mid-morning for two weeks, Monday to Thursday. We have just three classes remaining and although I won't miss the feeling of needing to be somewhere at a certain time, 4 days a week ... I will miss our fun pool time (it certainly take the baby weight off my back). Oh and as an added bonus, we are the only students in the class and our teacher is marvelous.

Kya LOVES swimming. And she loves her "swimmer" french braids.

After Thursday's lesson, we had a picnic at the playground and enjoyed one of our first June sunny days.
