House for sale

One of the many things we've been busy with lately ... we're selling our house!

We love this house, the neighborhood, and all that goes with it, so it'll be sad move out day for sure. Assuming the house sells, we're looking into building a house on our piece of the prairie.

35 weeks down, 35 days to go

No, I didn't give up blogging for lent ...
Although it probably seems that way!
Yikes.

I'm going to play the pregnancy card and say that I've been tired ... and busy. It's really sinking in that we're going to have a baby in about a month. A BABY! Whoa!

Not that we're not ready – we totally are – but wow. A BABY! A eating, crying, pooping, adorable, cuddly, brand new baby.

week 35

About this baby ...
- She has had the hiccups at least once a day for the past three days. It's usually after she's very active. I think she gets herself too excited.
- She (and my belly) arrive places before I do.
- She wants you to vote on her arrival date (if you haven't already). The deadline is this Monday.

I have a doctor's appointment next Friday and then I will have an appointment every week. The nurses already know me by name - which I think is hilarious. Time for our birth center tour and birth plan and packing ... and waiting.

Tic toc, tic toc ... when will baby arrive?

Got a hunch about baby Hager's arrival date? How about her weight?

Make a guess by commenting on this post with your name, the date you think she'll arrive, and her weight at birth. Her weight will be a tiebreaker in the event that more than one person guesses the same date.

Some info that may help:
- Due date is April 1, 2010
- We are having a girl
- She is very active and is currently "head-down"
- A few of the Sisters at work think I'll deliver "early"
- My mom was overdue with me by about a week
- My belly has been measuring about one week big

Good luck!
No prize - just some good ol' fashioned fun.
One guess per person.
Last day to submit a guess is Monday, March 1.

33 weeks

week33
Our little honeydew! This week the baby is about 18 inches long and about 4.75 pounds (roughly the size of a honeydew melon).

We've been nesting and getting ready, just in case our little gal decides to make an early arrival. The car seat is installed (thanks to the car seat safety check), her clothes are washed, and we've started stocking up on diapers (Sam's club is great!). On the to do list this week: choose a pediatrician.

If you're like me and have completely forgotten what I looked like back about ... oh eight months ago ... this might refresh your memory.

Corey's pearly whites

Corey got braces on his teeth about 11 months ago.
Today the braces came off!

A long winter

Another five inches of snow fell over the last day or so, which means Corey got to take the snow blower/thrower out for a spin.

Corey and I decided we'd like to try "life without cable TV" ... so last week we had it disconnected. As of today we have a whopping one channel. Apparently we can connect an antenna (little bunny ear style) to the TV for some free channels, which we'll definitely be doing. In all honesty, I'm rather enjoying life without cable. I've realized that background music is much less of a distraction than TV!

We just started a six-month subscription to Netflix (thanks Jesse and Megan for the gift!) which is proving to be a great service. We've already watched one mailed DVD and one movie over the internet, on my computer. I was pleasantly surprised that the nearest Netflix distribution center is in Fargo, so our movies are delivered in one day.

Today we took a drive out to our land in the country ... it was white on white with spots of brown trees. In most places it was hard to see where the sky met the horizon. I waited in the (heated) car while Corey went exploring (and taking photos). It was a hoot watching him try to run though thigh-deep show – in jeans and tennis shoes.

Needless to say, we're still deep in winter here. More sub-zero temperatures on the way next week ... which means more sewing for me.

Less than 54 days until our due date!
