It's hard for this mama to believe that our little guy has been "out" for as long as he was "in." I think I said the same when Kya was this age ... but it really does seem like Gavin has been here forever.
This little bundle of smiles melts hearts all day. Every elderly lady in the grocery store calls him a "little lady killer" and one even offered to babysit ... another tried to unbuckle and take him out of the car seat but I was able to intercept that effort (story for another day). Gavin's got the most content laid back personality but gets 'scream-from-the-top-of-his-lungs' excited when Kya plays with him.
Kya and Gavin have crawling races (Kya usually wins). And they both enjoy time together when Kya feeds him his baby food. It is hard to witness this in person because the event stops as soon as I am within ear reach, but if Gavin wakes up from a nap and Kya beats me to his room (if i'm cooking or folding laundry or working downstairs) she turns on the lamp, climbs into his crib, and sings songs with him. I can hear Gavin's morning fusses turn to delighted giggles. And then my heart melts.
Gavin is taking after his sister and he is hanging out toward the "runt" end of the growth charts ...
- 17 lbs, 9 oz and is 28.5 inches tall at 9 months
- loves to eat (eats anything and everything) and drink water from a sippy cup (still nursing).
- words: dada, mama, baby
- favorite place to hang out: kya's room
- funny things: blows bubbles and screams/screeches then laughs
- teeth: none, yet.
Nicknames (mostly given to him from Kya): Gavin-E, Stinky Pants, Prince, Silly Boy
Needless to say, we'll keep this kid around for a while. We're all smitten.
